A more detailed overview:

I’m a child of the Commodore 64 generation. My first hardware hack — converting an old cassette player into a Datassette at age eight — was born from the challenge of limited pocket money. Do you remember those days, when software was stored on music cassettes? Weird times!

At 14, I became a licensed ham radio operator, and in January 2001, I completed my education as an information scientist in application development.

My journey with Oracle databases began during my apprenticeship (1998-2001), where I first encountered version 7.x. With over 25 years of professional experience, I specialize in high-demand databases and high-availability clustering technologies.

During my times working as a consultant, I contributed to critical infrastructure and database projects for top DAX companies and public sector clients. Currently, working with Oracle as an Oracle OCI presales Account Cloud Engineer – ACE, I support clients in their cloud transformations.

My current biggest challenges are database cloud migrations, network and connectivity, firefighting and to demonstrate best practices and usage of the Oracle OCI.

Since 2010, I’m an active member of the German Oracle User Group (DOAG), delivering presentations on cloud architecture, high-availability solutions, best practices for RAC and more. As a former DOAG Local Representative for NRW, I organized regular user group meetings covering diverse topics like blockchain, CI/CD, microservices, DevOps and beyond.

Balancing my demanding career with family life, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, teaching my son soccer tricks, golfing, grilling, savoring fine whisk(e)y and woodworking.
